As Americans lift themselves out of an economic slump, findings from the 2013 Harris Poll EquiTrend® (EQ) study show consumers’ perceptions of automotive brands continue to climb. More than 30 auto brands were assessed this year, and both the luxury and full line auto categories improved. Blue Buffalo is Both Cat and Dog Food Brands of the Year in 2013 Harris Poll EquiTrend® Study
According to the most recent Harris Poll on pet ownership, three in five Americans (60%) have a pet. Among these pet owners, two-thirds have a dog (67%) and just over half have a cat (52%), some with multiple pets. And, despite tough economic times, the pet industry is expected to continue its 15 year trend of sales increases and log over $55* billion in sales for 2013, with more than $21* billion expected in pet food sales.  Read More>>

Over Seven in Ten Americans Planning a Summer Road Trip; Disney Theme Parks Amusement Attraction Brand of the Year
For many Americans, summer is the best time to travel; in fact, a majority (72%) of those surveyed in a recent Harris Poll plan to do so this summer by way of a road trip with at least one overnight stay. Americans anticipate taking an average of 2.7 such trips between May and August of 2013. According to the poll (conducted online by Harris Interactive among 2,084 U.S. adults ages 18+ from May 31 to June 4, 2013), younger Americans (ages 18-34) are more likely to have at least one road trip planned (81%) than any other age group (68% ages 35-44, 74% ages 45-54, 65% ages 55+). Those in households with children (80%) are also more likely to have a road trip planned than those without (68%). While the unemployment numbers may be slowly drifting downward, Americans’ attitudes toward their region’s job market have not been looking good of late. As reported in a recent Harris Poll (conducted online by Harris Interactive among 2,286 U.S. adults from August 14-19, 2013), nearly half of Americans (46%) rate the current job market in their region of the country as bad; three in ten (31%) classify it as neither good nor bad, and fewer than one-fourth (23%) describe it as good.  Read More>>
